What is Hydraulic Press Brake?
A hydraulic press brake is a processing machine that utilizes hydraulic power to drive the ram’s vertical movement. By coordinating with various dies, it bends and forms metal sheets (also known as bending, flanging, or folding). Its operating principle involves generating immense pressure through a CNC hydraulic system, causing the upper die mounted on the ram to close with the lower die beneath the worktable, thereby bending the sheet metal to the desired angle or shape.
As a specialized manufacturer of hydraulic press brakes, DXTECH offers the industry’s broadest selection of CNC press brakes. Pressure ranges span from 175 tons to 1250 tons, with bending lengths varying from 3100 mm to 6220 mm. Whether you require 40 ton press brake or 400 ton press brake, DXTECH can support. We are committed to enhancing production efficiency while consistently maintaining reliable product quality.

Hydraulic Press Brake Highlights
Intelligent CNC Precision Control
Equipped with Delem or ESTUN CNC systems, operators simply input material and thickness parameters—the system automatically calculates optimal bending angles, backgauge positions, and deflection compensation values. This enables even novice users to achieve ±0.02mm bending accuracy instantly without manual adjustments.
Fully Annealed Frame
All-steel monolithic welded construction undergoes high-temperature annealing and high-frequency vibration stress relief to completely eliminate internal stresses. This ensures the bed remains distortion-free and maintains consistent precision over extended use. Paired with a high-rigidity design, it achieves ±0.02mm repeatability accuracy, delivering consistent bending precision for a decade.
Precision-Matching Mold Set
Each machine comes standard with a precision-ground concentric mold set, eliminating the hassle of purchasing molds separately. Upper and lower molds are precisely matched for perfect alignment upon startup, reducing setup time by 50% while achieving ±0.02mm bending accuracy. The four-sided reversible design extends mold lifespan by 4 times. Standardized interfaces enable rapid replacement while completely eliminating all costs associated with mold design, manufacturing, and replacement. Perfectly suited for multi-variety, small-batch production demands.

Hydraulic Press Brake Buying Guide You Should Know
The tonnage selection of a press brake depends on your actual processing needs. These include the material type, the maximum sheet thickness, and the maximum sheet length. Based on these three factors, you can determine the basic model selection for the press brake.
You can refer to the following 6 steps to select the right press brake type:
- Define your bending requirements, such as material type, thickness, length, and daily output.
- Choose the appropriate tonnage based on material type and thickness. For example, a 6mm carbon steel plate can use a 120-ton press brake.
- Determine the table length according to your material length and workshop space. It is recommended to leave a margin of 300–500mm.
- Choose the drive type. For thick plates, use a hydraulic drive. For higher precision, choose an electro-hydraulic servo synchronous drive. For thin sheets only, choose an electric press brake. And if you want to learn more about the differences between servo press brake and hydraulic press brake, please check this article: servo press brake vs hydraulic press brake
- Check whether the precision configuration is sufficient. Usually it includes Y1/Y2 synchronization, deflection compensation, CNC system, and more.
- When purchasing a bending machine, it is essential to select a high-quality manufacturer at the source, focusing on in-house production capabilities, overall machine quality control, core component specifications, and full-lifecycle after-sales service. The hydraulic press brake can be used for bending and processing various metal materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, galvanized steel, titanium alloy, and high-strength steel. If you are not sure, you can consult our technical staff.
If you have already purchased a press brake, be sure to perform debugging and testing after installation. This ensures the accuracy of subsequent bending operations. Check items such as the parallelism of the ram, the perpendicularity and parallelism of the back gauge, preset bending parameters for different materials, the angle sensor (if equipped), the matching condition of the bending tools, and their wear level.
Additionally, you can check out this article for more tips on improving bending accuracy: What Should You Pay Attention To When Bending With A Bending Machine?
Maintenance for the hydraulic press brake mainly covers the following five areas:
- Hydraulic system – This mainly refers to the hydraulic oil. We recommend that you check the oil level daily to make sure it is not too low. You should also pay attention to oil quality, oil change intervals, and filter element replacement.
- Lubrication system – Check the lubrication condition of moving parts such as guide rails, ball screws, and the ram. This helps prevent wear.
- Bending tools – We recommend cleaning the tool surfaces every day. Check the tools weekly for any signs of wear.
- Scale cleaning – Clean the surface of the linear scale every month. Prevent dust and oil from blocking the reading.
- Machine leveling – After one year of operation, the foundation may settle. This is normal. However, you need to adjust the machine level in time to correct it. This prevents inconsistent bending angles.
